Inscribed: "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined", Henry David Thoreau's signature on the inside. This inscription is adapted from Thoreau’s book Walden, “I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” We now regard Thoreau as a pioneer of modern environmentalism. He was also a champion of the individual, and a bulwark against the Victorian obsession with social conformity as is reflected in this quotation that is widely attributed to him. Made in New York City, pendant is over 1.5" long.
