This vintage 14k gold shield charm, by famed jeweler Bernhard Hertz, features nine red hearts surrounding three lions, topped by a regal crown. It is the Royal crest of Denmark rendered in solid gold. The hallmark “BH 585 Denmark” on the reverse identifies this as a rare Danish heraldic piece circa 1970s. Though the original lions’ blue enamel has mostly worn with time it only adds to the authenticity of this collector’s treasure with historical significance.
